THIS IS SHELBY'S FIRST BIRD IN THE FIELD. SHE RODE ALONG IN THE BOAT, DUCK
HUNTING TODAY. SHE WAS GREAT! CALM- - EYE'S , EAR'S, AND NOSE ALL IN HUNTING
MODE. AFTER 6 HOURS OF NO SHOTS, I RETURNED TO SWAN LAKE'S PUBLIC LANDING.
AFTER LOADING UP THE BOAT, SHELBY AND I WALKED ONE BLOCK INTO A WILDLIFE AREA
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. SHE WENT
ON POINT
! ON THE EDGE OF HEAVY MARSH, AND CANE GRASS. HER FRONT LEG UP, TAIL UP, AND
HEAD DOWN LOOKING AT IT. I WALKED UP , TOLD HER O K. SHE ONLY MOVED ONE MORE
SLOW STEP, AND THE BIRD FLUSHED. THIS IS HER FIRST REAL BIRD SCENT WITH ALL THE
NIGHTS OF WORKING WITH HER. SHE WENT DIRECTLY TO THE DEAD BIRD, FOUND, AND
RETRIEVED TO ME. I HAVE OWNED, SETTERS, SPANIELS, AND A LAB BEFORE. I CANT
REMEMBER SUCH A GREAT JOB DONE! WE LEAVE FOR SOUTH DAKOTA IN ONE WEEK, SHE WILL
BE READY - AND I WONT. HA. THIS CAMERA TAKES LOW GRADE PICTURES, I WILL
UP-GRADE BY THEN. THANKS AGAIN
