Crazy Quail Covey Flush Tournament Okoboji Game Farm held a special sporting clays tournament Sunday September 3rd. The Crazy Quail Covey Flush Tournament featured two person teams shooting 50 clays each at seven different stations with four targets flushing at a time. At some flushes there would be a poison clay that no one could shoot. At other times there would be a target that had to be shot last. Team members had to strategize over who was going to shoot which targets. Eighteen teams competed in the exciting and challenging event featuring three divisions. First division, first place winners were Dave Klohs and Steve Ohm of LeMars. First division, second place winners were Bob and Jeff Johnson of Albert City. Jim Hentges and Kyle Hamilton were first division, third place winners. Second flight winners were Jeff Knudtson of Spencer and Steve Arnold of Spirit Lake. Three teams tied for second place. They include Dave Klohs and Steve Ohm, Steve Arnold and Jeff Knudtson, and Ben and Dave DeRuyter of Rock Valley. The two teams tied for the top in the third division were Dan Lundell, Meridan and Kyle Johnson, Albert City and Dan Winterfield and Cal DeRuyter, Rock Valley. The two teams tied for third place were Cecil and Justin Hildebrandt of Sioux Falls and Cody Burgin of Milford and Mike Anderson of Spirit Lake. Congratulations to all of the participants for a fun day! The next event planned at Okoboji Game Farm is the Country Vet Gundog Challenge on September 23 and 24.
